PURPOSE:To provide a rolling mill which reduces the size and weight thereof and improves the working efficiency in roll changing by the constitution wherein upper and lower chocks are disposed between a pair of housing posts having separated bottom end parts and connected top end parts. CONSTITUTION:A pair of housings 19a, 19b which support upper and lower chocks 16, 18 for supporting a pair of upper and lower rolls 15 and 17 are constituted into a U shape consisting of housing posts 21, 22 and an upper beam 38. Fitting grooves 23, 24 extending upward from the bottom end parts are formed on the lower inside surfaces of said posts 21, 22 and the projecting parts 29, 30 of the chock 18 are fitted therein by means of cotters 35, 36. The chock 16 is disposed above the chock 18 by means of a roll balancer 37, and a rolling down device 39 is provided above the same. Exchanging of the rolls 15, 17 is easily accomplished by hoisting said housings 19a, 19b upward with a crane or the like and removing the same after releasing clamps 45. |
