PURPOSE:To broaden the fogging exposure latitude of the titled material by incorporating a mixture of one or more kinds of a low-sensitive silver halide particle which is desensitized with a desensitizer, and a higher sensitive silver halide particle, in the titled material. CONSTITUTION:The emulsion layer of the titled material contains two or more kinds of the inner latent type silver halide particles which are not previously fogged and have the same color sensitivity, and the silver halide particle consists of the particles having different sensitivities with each other. One or more kinds of the low sensitive particles among said particles are desensitized by the org. desensitizer such as pinakryptol or the inorg. desensitizer such as rhodium chloride. The direct positive image is obtd. by imagewise exposing the titled material and then, by surface-developing it while and/or after wholly exposing the obtd. material. Thus, the stable image against the fluctuation of the fogging exposure, is obtd.
