PURPOSE:To facilitate the job filing recording paper sheets by recording data on the recording paper sheets and cutting the recording paper to a prescribed length unifiedly. CONSTITUTION:When the length of a page P1 of a sent original is A4 size or below, the length of the page P1 is subtracted from the size A4 to form a new length L and the page P2 is recorded under the page P1. Just after the recording paper, the recording paper is fed so that the total length of the recording paper is the same length as the size A4 and then cut to reset the length L to that of the A4 size. If the processing is not just after the preceding page cut, whether or not the length of the sent original page N is larger than the length of the A4 size is discriminated, and in the case of a long document, tne recording for the A4 size is applied, and the length being the subtraction of the A4 size from the long document is reset to the length of the corresponding page and cut to reset the length of the A4 size to the length L.
