PURPOSE:To stop a useless data transmission/reception instruction in advance by providing a status unclear bit to a station status field in a central computer in a remote supervisory system and referring to the said bit just before the data transmission/reception instruction to a slave station is issued. CONSTITUTION:A one-to-one communication line is provided between a central station and a slave station and between slave station and a sub slave station. At the time of staring the system, a CPU 2 of a central station computer system 1 sets a status unclear bit 7 of all station status fields 20 on a main storage 10. Then a station status sending request is issued to each slave station telemeter 4 via a central station telemeter 3. Then is applying the processing, not only an individual alarm status bit field 8 of the station status field of the corresponding station but also the status unclear bit 7 are checked in advance. Then when the status unclear bit 7 is set, the issuing of an instruction from the CPU 2 to the central station 3 is stopped in advance and it is informed to a request sender.
