PURPOSE:To grasp the action of a process deeply, widely and correctly by calculating a process trend index based on the time series value of a process variable. CONSTITUTION:The present value of a process variable PV collected by a device 1 is stored into a device 3 and an indirect measured value is calculated from the present value with a device 11. The present value of the device 3 is stored into a control device 5 as the PV time series value of a past constant time at a constant period and sent to a control part 9. A device 13 calculates a process trend index based on the PV time series value and calculates the value to make this into a time series. A process trend index time series value and its reliability interpolated and calculated by a device 17 are sent to the control part 9. A production rule from a knowledge base storage device 23 is also sent to the control part 9. The control part 9 reasons the action of the process based on respective inputs further deeply, widely and correctly and the reasoning result is supplied through a device 25 to an operator and a control device.
