PURPOSE:To simplify constitution, and to form a magnetic field having high uniformity through simple operation by connecting a main coil and a sub-coil in series, energizing the coils by a single power supply and displacing the relative positions of the main coil and the sub-coil. CONSTITUTION:The whole is dipped in liquid helium and brought to a superconductive state, and fixed currents are caused to flow through a main coil 1 and a sub coil 2 connected in series from a single power supply. When a pinion rotational driving shaft 8 is driven, a sub-coil bobbin 4 is turned by a pinion gear 7, the sub-coil bobbin 4 is moved vertically by a screw 5, and the relative positions of the main coil 1 and the sub-coil 2 are displaced. Upper and lower sub-coils 2 are displaced in the opposite direction. A magnetic field at a central point 0 is measured at all times, and the revolution of the sub-coil bobbin 4 is stopped when the magnetic field is brought to maximum uniformity. Accordingly, the magnetic field having high uniformity can be shaped by simplified constitution and simple operation.
