PURPOSE:To uniformly perform lubrication treatment until the inner part with foams and to reduce compression flaws at binding time by feeding with pressure fitting the foam contg. a lubricant between the rings of a wire rod coil. CONSTITUTION:An air bag 2 and foamer 14 are inserted from both ends into a wire rod coil C and the water solution contg. a lubricant is fed by a foamer 14 by opening a stop valve 18 and compressed air is blown into the foamer 14 by shifting a stop value 21 as well. The water solution becomes in foams with its foaming inside the foamer 14, pushed out to the space between the inner peripheral face of the wire rod coil C and the air bag outer peripheral face 3 and when the foams are filled up in the space, the feeding of the water solution and compressed air to the foamer 14 is stopped. When the compressed air is fed into an air bag 2 by shifting a shift valve 10, it is expanded in order from the room of the coil outside to seal both coil end parts first and to push the foam into the gap between the rings of the coil C. The pushed-in foam is uniformly sticked on the wire rod surface to act lubrication. Compressed binding is executed by a binder with the coil C being immediately dried by the residual heat in hot rolling.
