PURPOSE:To prevent a slider from being inclined and to attain stable magnetic recording and reproducing by constituting a magnetic head so that a fixing position between a flexible pattern cable (FPC) and a gimbal is set up vertically to the rotating direction of a medium and allowed to coincide with the center of the slider. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic head has the slider 3 equipped with a magnetic core, the gimbal 5 mounting the slider 3 almost on its center, a base board 6 for fixing and holding the periphery of the gimbal 5, and FPC 14. The fixing position between the FPC 14 and the gimbal 5 is set up vertically to the rotating direction of the medium and allowed to almost coincide with the center position of the gimbal 5. Since the center of the slider 3 is allowed to almost coincide with the fitting position of the FPC, moment based upon force applied in the W direction is almost zero. Consequently, stable magnetic recording or reproducing can be attained without inclining the slider 3. |
