摘要 PURPOSE:To enable precision control for cooling by providing a nozzle group which is operable freely in 4 modes to a gas-water cooler in a secondary cooler. CONSTITUTION:The surface temp. of a strand 2 is measured with a surface temp. measuring device 8 and is inputted to a temp. indicating controller 40. The controller 40 compares the measured signal with the command signal from a command device 41 for changing control and inputs the differential signal to an indicator 39 for selection of control modes. The indicator 39 selects a suitable control mode and applies the control signal to an indicating controller 38 for the flow rate of cooling water, an indicating controller 32 for pressure and an indicating controller 33 for the flow rate of air. A controller 34 for selection of pressure and flow rate selects pressure or flow rate or both thereon in accordance with the instruction given thereto, then a flow rate control valve 31 operates. On the other hand, a flow rate control valve 37 is operated by the command of the controller 38 so that a nozzle 20 operates in 4 modes of ejecting air and water, ejecting water, ejecting air and ejecting nothing.
