PURPOSE:To perform swinging operation with simple constitution by arranging a couple of transparent glass materials which are put nearby each other so that their surfaces slanting to an optical axis face each other in an optical path. CONSTITUTION:Light which is made incident through an objective 11 forms an image on the photodetection surface of a solid-state image pickup element 13 through a swing mechanism 12. The solid-state image pickup element 13 is driven with clock pulses from a driving circuit 14 and its output is inputted to a video circuit 17 to output a video signal. A swing signal which is inverted at intervals one field is outputted by a swing generating circuit 16 to the swing mechanism 12 with vertical synchronizing pulses from a synchronizing signal source 15 in synchronism with a vertical synchronizing signal. The transparent glass materials C1 and C2 which has the surfaces slanting to the optical axis are arranged at the main body D of the mechanism 12 so that the slanting surfaces face each other; and the glass material C1 is fixed to the main body and the glass material C2 is held by a holder B through a piezoelectric element A. Then the glass material C2 is displaced reciprocally in the optical-axis directions through the element A with a swing signal to swing.
