PURPOSE:To make improvement in convergeability within a vertical plane and the setting of a right ion orbit attainable by setting up a slit and a static quadrupole lens both between a collisition chamber to be set up in the rear of an electric field and a second magnetic field, while making voltage to be impressed on this static quadrupole lens so as to be adjustable. CONSTITUTION:A slit S5 and a static quadrupole lens Q are both set up between a collision chamber CC2 to be set up in the rear of an electric field E and a second magnetic field B2, while voltage to be impressed on this static quadrupole lens Q is constituted so as to be adjustable. The voltage to be impressed on the static quadrupole lens Q is adjusted according to both working structures in case of a mass spectrometer, doubly converging a front stage, and in another case of the mass spectrometer, doubly converting the rear stage, by a first magnetic field B1, the electric field E and the second magnetic field B2. In this manner, convergeability is improved, and a right ion orbit can be set up. |
