POWDER MIXTURE HAVING HIGH PROPYLENE GLYCOL CONTENT AND PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION THEREOF

The invention relates to a powder mixture having a high propylene glycol content and to a process for the preparation thereof. The powder mixture of the invention consists of 25 to 75 per cent by weight of propylene glycol and 75 to 25 per cent by weight of a solid carrier selected from magnesium oxide, magnesium peroxide, magnesium carbonate, silica and mixtures thereof. The powder mixture of the invention can be treated as a solid powder and it does not deliquesce in the air even when stored for a long time. The powder mixture of the invention can be used as solid propylene glycol in dietetic products for calf, piglet and lamb, in pharmaceutical compositions for the treatment of ketosis and in other pharmaceutical compositions for veterinary use.
