FLAT TUNDISH CASTING WITH A FIRE RESISTANT MATERIAL-HIGH ALUMINA

In the flat tundish of a continuous casting machine the permanent lining is constructed with a low cement castable comprising 0-5.0 wt.% alumina cement, 0-5.0 wt.% CaO, 0-8.0 wt.% water and the balance alumina bone material. The low cement castable is coated with a basic coating material. The advantage is a restraint of chemical reaction and crack occurrence, and a easy separation of ground metal and slag.
