PURPOSE:To faithfully execute equalization near the data on the level to be detected by making an equalization computation by using the data which is not affected by the data on the level to be detected as the average value of the image data near the data on the level to be detected. CONSTITUTION:An acoustic signal S is subjected to a frequency analysis in a frequency analysis part 1 and is stored as signal levels Sx with the respective frequencies in a 1st memory 2. A former average value computing part 3 computes the average value AL of the signal level Sx from the signal level in a former displacement section DELTAL and a latter average value computing part 4 computes the average value AR of the signal level Sx from the signal level in a latter displacement section DELTAR. A min value detecting part 5 compares the outputs AL, AR of the respective computing parts 3, 4 and selects the min value thereof. A subtraction part 6 reads out the signal level X at the frequency S from the above-mentioned memory 2, substrates the output AL or Ar of the min value detecting part 5 from the output level S'x and outputs the equalization level signal Se.
