PURPOSE:To set the incident surface of a reflecting light so as to hold an incident angle with a good efficiency by providing a flexible optical fiber array as the wave guide path of the reflecting light to form an image with an image sensor. CONSTITUTION:An illuminating light L radiated by an illumination light source 1 linearly illuminates in the direction perpendicular to a paper surface at a reading position P point on an original surface 2. The illuminating light L executes the irregular reflection on the original surface 2, and at this time, the intensity of a light reflected at the same angle as the incident angle of the illuminating light L to a normal line erected on the original surface 2 is higher than a light to reflect in the upper direction vertically on the original surface 2 from the P point. By providing a flexible optical fiber 6 so as to face with this in the direction of the reflecting light of the same angle as the incident angle of the illuminating light, a reflecting light La is guided efficiently to an optical fiber array 6.
