PURPOSE:To reduce procedures between a bit of picture information and the next bit of picture information and to shorten a whole communicating time by inserting only a control return signal between the picture information and the next picture information. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 2 is connected to a ROM 3, a RAM 4, a timer 5, programmable parallel I/O 6, 7 and 10, periphery CPU 9, 11 and 12. The CPU 2 executes the control of the whole of a facsimile equipment and executes the coding and decoding of image data. Further, the CPU 2 inserts a control return signal only between a bit of picture information and the next bit of picture information. The CPU 2, after all pages in plural pages of communication are received, an unreceivable page out of plural pages is informed and resent to a transmission side.
