PURPOSE:To automatically execute the static convergence correction in the condition to display an image by controlling the detecting period of a detecting device, detecting a position dislocation and controlling a convergence circuit with the detecting signal. CONSTITUTION:A pattern signal necessary to detect a convergence dislocation generated from a pattern generating circuit 34 is supplied through a video circuit 24 to the cathode of a CRT. On the other hand, the detecting period of a detecting device 30 provided at a screen peripheral part in order to detect the convergence dislocation is controlled by a detecting period control circuit 35. The position data from the detecting device 30 are stored 31 and compared 32 with reference data. By the comparing output signal, a convergence correcting circuit 33 to execute the static convergence correction is controlled and the output of the circuit 33 is inputted to a convergence yoke 22 of the CRT.
