PURPOSE:To provide the titled novel polymer of improved moldability without impairing inherent outstanding heat resistance and mechanical properties, having recurring units derived from specific ether bond-contg. aromatic diamine and terephthaldehyde. CONSTITUTION:The objective polymer constituted mainly of recurring units of formula. This polymer can generally be obtained by dehydrating condensation reaction in a conventional manner between terephthaldehyde and 1,3-bis(4- aminophenoxy)phenyl. In combination with the above components, of other dicarbonyl component and diamine component are used, incorporation of each >=60mol.% of terephthaldehyde and 1,3-bis-(4-aminophenoxy)phenyl is preferable in terms of the moldability.
