PURPOSE:To easily and quickly remove jammed paper without staining a fixing roller with unfixed toner by installing a manual releasing means which spaces the shaft of the fixing roller and the shaft of a pressure roller. CONSTITUTION:When the necessity of removing jammed paper occurs, the pressure between a fixing roller 1 and pressure roller 13 is released by rotating a pressure releasing member 17 clockwise by 90 deg. and compressing a pressure spring 16 through a pressure lever 14. When a release lever 29 installed on the extended line of hooking member 27 is pressed, a one-side releasing means is released and the fixing roller 1 is slightly spaced from the pressure roller 13 by using a hooking member 25 and engaging member 26 as fulcrums and by the pressing force of a pressure spring 16 installed to the trailing section of this device to disengage the hooking member 27 with the engaging member 28. Therefore, the supporting means of the fixing roller 1 composed of the members 1-11 can be rotated by hands around an axis vertical to the roller axis with the members 25 and 26 as the fulcrums to space the suporting means of the fixing roller 1 and the supporting means of the pressure roller 13. |
