Artificial grass was prepd. by gluing a flooring web backcoated partially with thermoplastics to a backing material uppercoated partially with thermoplastics. Thus, pile webs and backing webs are fed simultaneously and are guided face to face to each other to position the lower part of pile web on the upper part of backing web before the two webs are glued. Then one of the thermoplastics of the lower part of pile webs or the upper part of backing webs is heated to plasticize and the two webs are glued to give the water permeable artificial grass.
