NEW MATERIAL:A quinoline carboxylic derivative expressed by formula I (X is F, Cl, Br or H; R1 is formula I; A is lower alkyl or 3-4C straight-chain saturated alkylene which may be substituted; R2 is lower alkyl or lower cycloalkyl) and salt thereof pharmacologically allowable. EXAMPLE:1-Ethyl-6-fluoro-1,4-dihydro-7-(2-isoxazolizinyl)-4-oxoquinoli ne-3-carbox ylic acid. USE:An antibacterial agent useful as especially remedy for urinary tract infection because of exhibiting excellent antibacterial activity widely against Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria as well as having excellent absorption and high discharge ratio into urine and difficult to receiving metabolism. PREPARATION:A carboxylic acid expressed by formula III (Y is group capable of replacing with isoxazolizine or tetrahydrooxazines) or ester thereof is reacted with BF2 chelate and a compound expressed by formula IV to provide the aimed compound expressed by formula I.
