PURPOSE:To attain a large scale network constitution by adding a detecting circuit of optical input, a collision detecting circuit and a gate circuit to a repeater to form a tree form of transmission network. CONSTITUTION:An optical signal at a terminal 5' is amplified at a photoelectric converting circuit 20-1, its output is converted by an electrooptic converting circuit 21-1 and outputted to a terminal 2'. On the other hand, an output of the circuit 20-1 enters an output/input detecting circuit 22 to control a gate circuit 26 through an inverter circuit 23 and an OR circuit 24. The optical signal inputted to a terminal 3' is amplified at a photoelectric converting circuit 20-2 and inputted to the circuit 26 and the collision detecting circuit 25, and when the collision of optical inputs is detected, the circuit 26 is opened through the circuit 24. The output of the circuit 26 is converted at the electrooptic converting circuit 21-2 and outputted to a terminal 4'. |
