PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition highly effective in stabilizing organic substances against oxidative degradation and having non-staining and non- volatile properties and good workability, by condensing a dionylphenol, a 4- alkylphenol and formaldehydes. CONSTITUTION:A liquid stabilizer composition for organic substances and composed mainly of methylenebis(dinonylphenol) and 2,6-is(dinonylhydroxybenzyl)-4- alkylphenol can be produced by reacting (A) a dionylphenol (e.g. 2,4- dinonylphenol), (B) a 4-alkylphenol and (C) formaldehydes at a molar ratio (A/B) of (60-90)/(40-10), preferably (70-85)/(30-15). The composition is compounded in an amount of 0.01-10pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. of an organic substance (e.g. natural rubber or styrene-butadiene copolymer rubber).
