PURPOSE:To effectively stop the heat transmission from a light source to consti tuting elements of a picture reader by providing a coupling member consisting of materials, whose heat conductivity is <=100kcal/m.h.deg, between a light source holding member and an unmagnification reader holding member. CONSTITUTION:A coupling member 8 consisting of materials whose heat conduc tivity is <=100kcal/m.h.deg is provided between an LED holding body 2 and a reader holding body 4. Since this coupling member 8 is provided, transmission of the heat generated from an LED 3 is suppressed between the LED holding body 2 and the reader holding body 4 by the member 8 to prevent constituting elements of the reader from being heated. Thus, the degradation in S/N is prevented.
