PURPOSE:To directly indicate a position on a screen by arraying display picture elements and light receiving elements in lattice on the same screen. CONSTITUTION:In the display picture elements 2aa-2mn arrayed in lattice on the display screen 1, the corresponding display picture elements 2 emit light (discolor) to display according to character information and pattern information, etc. If the light receiving elements 3aa-3mn are arrayed in lattice on the display screen 1 and light beam is radiated to them from outside, the light receiving elements 3 sense it. When an operator watches the information displayed on the display screen and indicates an optional position on the screen, the indicated coordinate position on the display screen 1 can be directly indicated by radiating the light beam which the light receiving elements 3 can sense so as to make it detected.
