PURPOSE:To effectively retrieve desirable picture data at high speed by forming an individual retrieved data file needed by a retriever from the files of plural pieces of registered picture data. CONSTITUTION:The retrieved data of all the picture data registered in a picture data filling part 2 is stored in a retrieved data filing part 3. The retrieved data needed by each retriever from the retrieved data stored in the retrieved data filing part 3 is stored in a floppy disk by operating a keyboard 4. At the time of retrieval, the individual file formed like this is stored in a retrieved data filing part 6. Next, a desirable retrieval key word is inputted from the keyboard 4. A retrieving device 7 retrieves the retrieved data corresponding to an input from the data filing part 6 and extracts the picture data.
