<p>PURPOSE:To ensure the application of the titled compression system to the image editing jobs of the electronic publication, a facsimile system and an electronic filing system, by smoothing an input picture and transforming the picture data into a vector for reduction of the data quantity to perform the editing jobs for reduction, magnification, rotation, etc. CONSTITUTION:The data signal supplied from a picture memory 1 is turned into a vector by a vector transforming circuit 4. When data are read out of a vector data memory 5 and an external memory 6, a restoring circuit 7 restores the picture data transformed into a vector. The restored data is sent to the memory 1 via a sharpening circuit 8. Thus even a variable density picture containing a large quantity of data an be easily reduced, magnified and rotated for editing since the quantity of the variable density picture data is reduced (compressed) by the vector transformation. This compressing system can be applied to the image editing jobs of the electronic publication as well as to the facsimile and electronic filing systems.</p> |
