PURPOSE:To lower the temp. of a printing head by utilizing the air flow caused by the movement of a carrier, by stopping only the driving of the printing head when the printing head reaches a predetermined temp. or more and continuing the movement of the carrier as it is. CONSTITUTION:The temp. sensor 27 mounted in a printing head 24 is connected to a temp. detection part 28 and the temp. of the printing head 24 is converted to the quantity of electricity to be outputted to a temp. discrimination part C and the detected temp. Td is compared with reference temp. Tf and the comparing result is sent to a control part B. When the printing of one line by a division printing is finished, said comparing result is referred to and, at the time of Td<Tf, the printing of the next line is performed according to a usual printing system. At the time of Td>=Tf, the number N of printing lines based on a division printing mode is compared with a reference value (n) and, at the time of N<n, the next line is also printed according to the division printing mode. At the time of N=n, printing is prohibited and the control part B emits an order to a space control part D so as to continue the movement of a carrier. By this order, the electromagnet of the printing head is not driven and the carrier is subjected to lost movement. |
