PURPOSE:To permit formation of an image having a high gradation by providing a shift register and switching means for changing over the connection circuits of the shift register between the output terminal of a recording data forming part and the input terminal of a latent image forming means and changing over the circuit connections. CONSTITUTION:A switch S3 is connected to a contact (b) and contact (e) sides by a switching signal from a CPU 9 and recording data (DY or DK) is once stored in the shift register 6 in the stage of multi-color image recording data. The shift register 6 transfers the stored recording data to the latent image forming means 22' upon elapse of the time necessary for the latent image carrier 1 to rotate and move the distance between the latent image forming means 21' and 22'. As a result, the data is outputted to the latent image forming means 22' with a delay by as much as the time corresponding to the above-mentioned distance. The accurate registration of the positions of the images formed by the means 21' and 22' is thus permitted. |
