PRODUCTION OF PASTE OF TITANIUM OXIDE PRECURSOR

PURPOSE:To produce the titled paste stable to hydrolysis, by adding ethylene glycol to titanium alkoxide liquid in a dried inert gas atmosphere and aging the mixture. CONSTITUTION:Ethylene glycol is dripped into a titanium alkoxide liquid in dried inert gas atmosphere under agitation at a rate of <=0.03mol./min per 1mol. of the titanium alkoxide until the amount of ethylene glycol reaches 2mol.-equivalent based on the titanium alkoxide. The mixture is aged for several hours - several days under agitation.
