PURPOSE:To obtain glass capable of expressing a beautiful decorative pattern of new sense and holding the beauty thereof, by sandwiching an intermediate decorative unit having scattered specific pattern pieces on a synthetic resin film surface between transparent glass plates and integrally adhering the three layers. CONSTITUTION:Patterned glass (G1) is formed from the front and back glass plates 1 and 2 and an intermediate decorative unit 3 present between both glass plates 1 and 2 into a three-layered structure. On the other hand, a film (3a) of an elastic and transparent synthetic resin (e.g. polyvinyl butyral resin) having good adhesive properties to the front and back glass plates 1 and 2 is used as a base material for the intermediate decorative unit 3. Finely cut foils of a metal (e.g. Al) having excellent light reflectivity are used as pattern pieces 4 to form a given pattern on one or both surfaces of the film (3a) or scattered in a random distribution state. The intermediate decorative unit 3 is then sandwiched between the front and back glass plates 1 and 2 and the above-mentioned three are integrally and thermally contact bonded to provide the aimed patterned glass (G1).
