PURPOSE:To concurrently obtain a flat face and a fine pitch by making Z a curved surface expressed by a polynomial containing sixth-power terms of X or Y in the XYZ rectangular coordinate system. CONSTITUTION:Z which is the fall on a mask curved surface 5 from the mask center point (origin O) is expressed by an equation, where X is the coordinate component in the long (X axis) direction of an angular shadow mask housed in an angular face panel, Y is the coordinate component in the short (Y axis) direction, Z is the coordinate component in the tube axis (Z axis) direction, and 2H is the outer diameter on the X axis of the shadow mask. The curved surface 5 indicates the fall and curvature showing a quick change in the region of H/2<r<=H against a spherical curved surface 6. The average radius of curvature can be reduced by adding a term of a9X<6> in the equation accordingly.
