PURPOSE:To achieve a higher reproducibility eliminating variations of measured values, by impregnating an epoxy resin composition modified by an organic silicon compound with a specified organic solvent or adding the organic solvent to an extraction water thereof. CONSTITUTION:When measuring numerals of ionic impurity, pH, electric conductivity and the like from an extraction water of an epoxy resin composition modified by an organic silicon compound, an organic solvent is previously added to the modified epoxy resin composition or the extraction water thereof so that 0.01-50wt.% of a neutral organic solvent containing oxygen is contained in the total amount of the extraction water. An organic silicon composition is a silicon compound in the form of liquid or solid which contains polysiloxane unit such as dimethyl polydioxane with the molecular weight of more than 1,000 having an organo polysiloxane structure in a molecular chain. The neutral organic solvent containing oxygen herein used is a solvent such as methyl alcohol and when the amount thereof is under 0.01wt.% for the total of extraction water, decrease in variations is not noted in the results of analyzing the extraction water and when it exceeds 50wt.%, the results of extraction is far from the normal level.
