The invention relates to an improved racquet, particularly for a game using a hard ball. According to the invention, the racquet is produced from high-performance plywood and consists of a circular head (stringing) 11 and of a concave handle 14 reinforced on both its faces. The handle is terminated, at its end, in a bulge 15 and is covered with a non-slip and anti-perspiration contact band 17. One of the faces 11a of the head (stringing) 11 is covered with a lacquered coating and it includes, at its centre, a visual ball-centring marker 16. The other face of the head (stringing) is covered with a covering of non-slip type. The invention applies principally to the playing of ball games, particularly using a tennis ball. <IMAGE>
