<p>PURPOSE:To make the stapling operation smooth by moving a bundle of sheets sidewise by use of a movable member until a sheet end detecting means detects the bundle of sheets if the data of size by which the size of sheets can be recognized is unfixed. CONSTITUTION:In the case of a manual insertion staple mode in which the date of size of sheets is unfixed, a bundle of sheets is inserted onto a staple tray 52a, and when a manual switch is turned on, a control device rotates a belt so as to allow the bundle of sheets S to abut against a stopper 63 for aligning the sheets. Further, a stepping motor 90 is driven to move a sidewise moving plate 89 toward a stationary plate 87. When one end of the bundle of sheets S is detected by a sheet edge sensor 96, the stepping motor 90 is turned off, and when a loading amount detecting means detects the thickness of the bundle of sheets S which is less than the treating capability of a staler, the stapling operation is carried out. Thus, it is possible to carry out the stapling working without hindrance.</p> |
