Process for the production of ferrous metals containing lead. The process consists in introducing lead into the metal bath in a controlled manner in the form of a mixture comprising at least two constituents, the first being a lead compound, the formula of which contains oxygen, and the second being a reducing agent for the compound, the lead metal present in the liquid metal originating from the reaction of the two constituents. The invention also relates to a cored wire which has a metal casing and a core consisting of the mixture of the two constituents.
