PURPOSE:To improve start-up characteristics and a moving speed by providing a clutch means between an elastic means and a driving source for charging an energizing force in the elastic means, and controlling this clutch means by the driving of a shutter blade. CONSTITUTION:An electromagnet 8 is powered on to operate the shutter blade 1 and then the clutch mechanism 17 is controlled by the operation of the shutter blade 1 itself. Therefore, the driving force can be charged in the shutter blade 1 continuously. Further, a motor is only rotated continuously to take successive pictures at an optional speed only by turning on and off the electromagnet 9. Further, an exposure time can be set freely by varying the time for which the electromagnet 9 is powered on. Consequently, a fast, high-accuracy, and small-sized lightweight shutter device of simple constitution is obtained.
