PURPOSE:To prevent plug dirt etc. so as to increase the starting ability of an engine, by correcting a basic engine start injection time determined responding to a cooling water temperature at the engine start with a correction coefficient calculated based on an intake pipe pressure and determining it to a real engine start injection time. CONSTITUTION:When an engine start time is detected by an engine start detecting means A, a basic engine start injection time determined in response to a cooling water temperature is calculated by a basic engine start injection time calculating means B. At the engine start, a correction coefficient is calculated by a correction coefficient calculating means D based on an intake pipe pressure detected by an intake pipe pressure detecting means C. The basic engine start injection time is corrected by a correcting means E with this correction coefficient to determine a real engine start fuel injection amount and a fuel injection valve F is controlled based on this engine start fuel injection amount. Therefore, an air fuel ratio at the engine start is always kept adequately and plug dirt, etc., are prevented so as to increase starting ability.
