PURPOSE:To obtain the titled fiber in such a manner that filaments are extruded through a spinneret having specific deleted area into a coagulating bath followed by dividing these filaments into two or more bundles at a specified position with variation in the monofilament strength kept at specified level. CONSTITUTION:Filaments are introduced, through a spinneret, via a non- coagulating fluid layer, into a coagulating bath. Said spinneret has the following characteristics: 1. number of holes...>=100, 2: short side length S for the hole group...>=20mm, 3. ratio of the long side length (L) to the short side length (S):L/S...>=4, 4. number of areas where holes are deleted in the direction virtually at right angle to the long side direction at 1.5-3 times the average distance between adjacent holes in the long side direction...>=1. The resulting coagulated filaments are drawn out together with the coagulating solution through the hole with rectangular opening whose long side length is equal to that of the rectangular area comprising said holes of the spinneret, followed by separation of the filaments from the coagulating solution and/or changing the take-up direction for the filaments to carry out respective take up of two or more filament bundles divided.
