PURPOSE:To produce a shape-memory alloy having good phase-transferring function at low temp. by adding specific ratios of V, Cr, Mn, Co, Zr, Nb, Mo, Ru, Ta, W, etc., to a Ti-Ni-Al alloy having specific compsn. and subjecting it to a specified heat treatment. CONSTITUTION:The Ti-Ni-Al alloy is obtd. by incorporating 50.0-52atom.% Ti and the balance Ni and furthermore substituting either the above-mentioned Ti or Ni by <=2.0% Al for the content thereof. One or more kinds among <=1.0% V, Cr, Mn, Co, Zr, Nb, Mo, Ru, Ta and W are then added to said alloy. The Ti-Ni-Al based alloy obtd. by this addition is subjected to cold working and is thereafter applied to the heat treatment for 10-120min at 300-500 deg.C. The titled alloy having good shape-memory characteristics and anelasticity at the cryogenic temp. of <=0 deg.C, particularly at about -20-50 deg.C is thereby obtd. |
