PURPOSE:To achieve a test for two kind of current velocity is a short time, by performing a series of tests varying attitude of a model in a wind tunnel to current therein. CONSTITUTION:The rear end of a sting 2 with a wind tunnel model 3 mounted at the tip thereof is inserted into a strut 1 provided in the wind tunnel 6. The sting 2 turns about the axis thereof while changing attitude of a model 10 with a rotating mechanism and an angle varying mechanism 8. The wind tunnel 6 is provided with a mach number altering mechanism which alters mach number of an tunnel current 9 by controlling the section of the wind tunnel with the movement of wind tunnel wall. During the operating of the wind tunnel 6, an attitude angle 4 of the model moves from negative to positive with the mechanism 8 while a test is performed with the current 9 set at a fixed mach number. On the other hand, when the model 3 is inverted up side down and the mach number of the current is altered in the wind tunnel 6, the model 3 is moved so as to change the attitude angle 4 from positive to negative being kept up side down with the mechanism 8 and a test is performed at the mach number altered. This enables two kinds of tests varied in the mach number during one reciprocation of the model 3.
