PURPOSE:To effectively carry out cooling of a vehicle generator and an engine starting motor and improved their operating characteristic by providing passages for making part of an engine cooling liquid to flow on said vehicle generator and engine starting motor. CONSTITUTION:In an internal combustion engine 1, a cooling liquid in its water jacket 3 is introduced out into a radiator 5 via an upper hose 4 and, after carrying out cooling here, returned to the water jacket 3 via a lower hose 6. Also, part of the cooling liquid in the water jacket 3 is taken out through a hose 17 to be circulated in the cooling liquid passage in a generator 8. In this case, a solenoid valve 9 which is closed when a cooling liquid temp. reached a defined value is provided on the upper course side part of the hose 17, and a hose 19 which is branched off of the hose 17 on the lower course side of the solenoid valve 9 is connected to the cooling liquid passage of a starting motor 18. And, the cooling liquid which have cooled the generator 8 and the starting motor 18 are made confluent by a hose 21 and returned to the lower hose 6.
