This lifting device applies to the vertical displacement of limited loads over a height difference of a few metres. It comprises a movable platform 1 which moves in the vertical direction, bearing on threaded sleeves 14, 15, 16 which are engaged on threaded rods 7, 8, 9. The threaded sleeves rotate by virtue of annular gears 17, 18, 19, 20 driven by a chain 21. A drive means 23 is mounted on the movable platform. <IMAGE>
