The invention relates to a special table for playing a game of bowls, combining certain aspects of billiards and pétanque in particular. The table is characterised in that it consists of a rectangular horizontal table top 2 mounted on legs 3 and covered with a surface 7 made from noise-damping resilient material, located at a few tens of centimetres above the ground, preferably between 40 and 50 cm, the said table top being bordered along its two longitudinal sides with resilient small benches (cushions) 8 and, over at least one of its lateral sides, with a gutter, referred to as a bowl-recovery gutter, consisting of a rectangular opening 11 made in the said table top 2 and itself bordered on its outer side with a damping band 13 projecting above the table top, a preferably quadrangular playing area, extending in the half-part of the table top equipped with the said gutter 11, being delimited on the said surface 7.
