PURPOSE:To increase cooling effect and to shorten cooling time by arranging cooling nozzle for injecting coolant in whole range of bottom face of a cooling chamber, to fluidize and cool whole metal powder. CONSTITUTION:The cooling nozzle 14 injecting the coolant 7 of nitrogen gas, etc., in whole range of the bottom face 13 of the cooling chamber 5 arranged at the bottom part of an atomizing chamber 1. When the injected coolant 7 is passed through in the metal powder 18 stored in the cooling chamber 5, by making flowing speed of the coolant 7 to more than the prescribed value, the above powder 18 is lifted, stirred and fluidized and the fluidized cooling is generated to whole powder 18 stored. By this method, as the coolant 7 is carried even to the part to be difficult to cool and the heat transfer area is enlarged, the rapid cooling can be obtd. Therefore, the cooling effect is increased and the cooling can be executed for a short time and even in the case of using the coolant 7 having low purity, the product having high quality can be obtd.
