MICROWAVE HEATING APPARATUS AND METHOD

An apparatus for heating and cooking a food product (42) with a combination of microwave heating and convection heating, is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a closable container (16) which has an inner container (28) to receive the food product and which has an internal fan (49). The closable container is placed in a microwave oven (11) so that the food product can be heated by microwave energy, and a microwave absorber (39) is provided in the closable container to heat air circulated by the fan so that the food product can also be heated by convection.
