PURPOSE:To simplify an optical system, by employing a spectral prism and a unidimensional line sensor. CONSTITUTION:The aqueous solution containing fine particles such as cells received in a test tube 6 is pumped up by a vacuum pump 8 and flows in a flow cell 2 through piping 10 to be finally received in a drain bottle 7. At this time, a solenoid valve 9 is in an open state. Herein, the light having specific energy emitted from an exciting light source 1 is incident to the flow cell 2 and, when light having energy other than that of the light source 1 is generated by fine particles such as cells when the aqueous solution passes through the flow cell 2, said light is directly dispersed by a spectral prism 3. The dispersed light is detected by a unidimensional line sensor 4 and the detected optical data is converted to an electric signal. Next, a signal processor 5 analyzes, records and displays data on the basis of the electric signal. By this method, an optical system is simplified. |
