PURPOSE:To evade the danger that a display becomes indistinct in principle and to mark a start index plate by employing a marking form for a display mechanism for a meter numeral on the start index plate. CONSTITUTION:A set switch is turned on by a setting means which operates in response to the loading of a counting device 70 in an imprinting set mechanism and when a specific form is inserted, an imprinting device 30 detects that and starts driving. Only when imprinting is performed on a print tax payment plate, the frequency of imprinting is counted 70, a cumulative frequency display mechanism 71 adds and displays the cumulative frequency of use, and a rest frequency display mechanism 72 displays the rest frequency by subtraction. When the start frequency preset by the start index plate is reached, a resetting means turns off the set switch and the counting operation of the device 80 and the imprinting operation of the device 30 are held in a stop state. Then the imprinting means is rotated to perform imprinting on the start index plate by the mechanism 71 and then the start index plate is removed to disable the instrument to operate; and the instrument is enabled to reoperate for the next time.
