PURPOSE:To collect data in various angle directions and to obtain vertical sectional images by moving a radiation detector linearly to an object to be inspected and counting detector output simultaneously. CONSTITUTION:It is assumed that the radiation detector 2 is held stopped with respect to the person 1 to be inspected. Then, the respective incident radiations on the radiation detector 2 are simultaneously counted by a simultaneous counter circuit 3, by which the data in the various directions on the X-Y plane are obtd. Coordinate conversion is executed between the data on the same section in accordance with the preset angle and position on the longitudinal section and the data passing the same point on the set plane are superposed on each other. The data relating to the radioactive material positioned originally on the set plane overlap on each other as they are, but the data positioned on the face deviated from this plane are blurred by the positional deviation arising from the coordinate conversion. The output of an adder circuit 5 is, therefore, the data distinctly indicating only the radioactive material distribution on the set plane. The data are then arrayed according to the Z-direction position by a linear scan image reconstituting circuit 6, by which the distribution state, i.e., longitudinal sectional image, of the radioactive material on the set plane is obtd.
