PURPOSE:To accurately check a battery by displaying the remaining capacity of the battery according to how many times an object device to is used and measuring the terminal voltage across the battery when the number of times of use of the device exceeds a prescribed value and proper operation can not be secured. CONSTITUTION:A comparing means 2 compares the number N of times of use of the battery stored in a storage means 1 with the preset prescribed number Nt of times. The number Nt of times is a value for securing the proper operation of the device and when the number N of times is smaller than the number Nt of times, the device can be put in operation at any temperature. When, however, the number N of times of use exceeds the NT, the device may not operate properly depending upon temperature, so a voltage detecting means 7 operates to measure the terminal voltage across the battery actually. The remaining capacity of the battery is therefore displayed according to the number of times of use of the device, and when the state where the proper operation can not be secured depending upon temperature is entered because the number of times of use exceeds the prescribed value, the terminal voltage across the battery is measured, so an extremely accurate battery check is executed.
